Privacy Policy
Purchase Memory is designed around a local-first privacy model. Our goal is to help you remember your purchase history while minimizing the amount of personal purchase data stored on our servers.
1. Information stored on your device
Your personal purchase history, purchase items, local product records, merchant records, attachments, and related local data are primarily stored on your device. Purchase Memory does not maintain a central plaintext database of your personal purchase history.
2. Account information
If you choose to use cloud account features, Purchase Memory may process account information such as your user ID, authentication provider, display name, email address when made available by the provider, subscription status, device installation metadata, and entitlement information.
3. Authentication
Purchase Memory may support Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In. Authentication providers are used to verify your identity. Authentication is separate from any cloud backup authorization you grant.
4. Receipt processing
When you use receipt import, receipt images and OCR-derived text may be transmitted temporarily to our backend and/or an AI processing provider to produce a structured purchase draft. We do not intend to permanently store receipt images or full OCR content on our backend as part of normal receipt extraction.
5. AI and document processing providers
Purchase Memory may use third-party AI or document-processing providers to understand receipt content. The specific provider may change over time. We aim to send only the information necessary to complete the requested processing.
6. Cloud backups
When backup is enabled, Purchase Memory builds a backup package on your device and encrypts it before upload. Depending on your plan and selected destination, encrypted backups may be stored in your authorized Google Drive, iCloud, or Purchase Memory Cloud.
Purchase Memory Cloud is designed to store encrypted backup objects and limited operational metadata such as backup ID, user ID, object key, creation time, size, schema version, and checksum. The backup content is not intended to be expanded into a plaintext purchase-history database on our servers.
7. Usage and operational information
We may process privacy-minimal operational data required to run the service, such as receipt-import usage counts, subscription entitlements, provider/model telemetry, timestamps, error information, and device installation metadata.
8. Payments and subscriptions
Paid subscriptions may be processed by app stores or other billing providers. We may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, renewal information, and other billing metadata necessary to provide paid entitlements. We do not directly store full payment-card details unless explicitly stated otherwise.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with service providers when necessary to operate authentication, document processing, backup storage, billing, infrastructure, security, and support.
10. Account deletion and local data
Deleting your Purchase Memory cloud account does not automatically mean deleting the purchase history stored locally on your device. Local data and cloud account data are separate.
11. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including encryption for supported backup flows and restricted access to backend systems. No system can guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
Purchase Memory is not intended for children below the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their jurisdiction without appropriate parental or guardian authorization.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Purchase Memory evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through additional notice.
